Sex Therapy
Sex therapy is a form of psychotherapy (“talk therapy”) for both individuals and couples that explores how psychological, interpersonal, physical and cultural factors impact sexual health and satisfaction. The goal of sex therapy is to take a holistic approach to helping individuals address past somatic (physical) and emotional challenges in order to improve their relational and sexual lives. I utilize modalities such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), attachment, sex therapy & mindfulness interventions to address shame and sex negative scripts while offering clients somatic and emotional coping skills to address pain and anxiety symptoms.
As a sex therapist, I subscribe to the AASECT model of human sexuality. I take a sex positive approach to the work that I do with clients.
